South Dakota ENA wins Mocktail Mix-off!
Festive, fun, and delicious, Mocktails put a positive twist on holiday drink options. Not everyone celebrates with alcohol. Many people prefer to remain sober, some are recovering from addiction, and others volunteer to be the sober driver. At any gathering, Mocktails provide a safe option for guests. Rachel Tinker created The Grinch, a fun, festive, non-alcoholic drink for everyone to enjoy! To see the recipe click here.

SD House Bill 1126 Signed Into Law
Governor Dennis Daugaard signed HB1126 into law on March 22, 2018! SD ENA has endorsed this bill from its inception. This bill clarifies the aspects of a medical forensic examination and will eliminate victims from receiving bills for their exams.
SD ENA Government Affairs Chair, Sandra Ruesch, testified on behalf of SD ENA and Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners. We are so proud of Sandra and all our members who advocate for our patients.
More information on the bill may be found HERE
If you'd like to become more involved with advocacy, please join our Government Affairs Committee. Reach out to Sandra for more information.

Committed to Care!
ENA has a new logo (top of page) and tag line! The logo is one of, if not the most important element within a brand system. It’s designed to act as the face of a brand and represent its essence and overall aesthetic. Oftentimes, the logo is the first experience a viewer has with an organization’s brand. So, it is imperative that it be legible, conceptually strong and captures the spirit of what the brand is all about. The ENA logo does this with a bold, energetic presence driven by the large letterforms. The logo deservingly places the emphasis on the “N” found in the middle, negative space. Symbolically, it creates a mental link of envisioning oneself filling that space, fitting into ENA. Whether it’s through education or advocacy, ENA genuinely cares about the members’ safety and preparation when in the emergency department. Additionally, “Committed to Care” is something that’s deeply embedded within the emergency nursing profession as a whole.
