Home - Welcome to SD ENA

South Dakota ENA

Often described as an art and a science, nursing is a profession that embraces dedicated people with varied interests, strengths, and passions because of the many opportunities the profession offers. The mission of the Emergency Nurses Association is to advocate for patient safety and excellence in the emergency nursing practice.

In South Dakota, the emergency nurse deals with diversity of work settings, ethnic background, and resources. South Dakota ENA strives to connect the emergency room nurses across the state through education, leadership and fellowship. As the motto of SD says “Great Faces. Great Places.” This too, is what you would find in the emergency rooms across our state.

Trauma Awareness Month - May 2013

“As part of Trauma Awareness month we just wanted to share our distracted driving efforts here at Vanderbilt. Please check out the link and see the music video “Highway Don’t Care” from Tim McGraw, Taylor Swift, and Keith Urban featuring Vanderbilt’s Lifeflight and Emergency Department. Also, check out the pledge drive that our Trauma nurses are doing. Thanks!!”

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is raising awareness of the dangers associated with distracted driving through its participation in the newly released video for the song “Highway Don’t Care,” performed by Tim McGraw and featuring Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. Vanderbilt LifeFlight, Vanderbilt University Hospital and the Adult Emergency Department were featured in the video, which depicts a young woman injured in a car accident as the result of texting while driving.
